STIGMA FREE OC

Can You See Me Now?

Challenge: With mental health issues increasing during the difficult and isolating time of the COVID-19 pandemic, draw attention to and reduce the stigma around mental illness and substance use disorders in Orange County.

Campaign: We developed an engaging and emotional video, print, digital and community outreach campaign encouraging people to “see the person, not the condition.” A refreshed campaign website allowed us to better reach the community across mobile and desktop platforms, inviting them to take the pledge to be stigma free.

Results: In the first month of the campaign, almost 7,500 unique users visited the StigmaFreeOC.com website, logging over 15,000 page views.

As we charter through life, it can be extremely easy to get caught up in our own endeavors. At times, I find myself so focused on my day-to-day responsibilities I lose perspective on what is truly important. Serving others. Serving my family, friends, and community is the epitome of Doing A World of Good. My encouragement to anyone reading this is to live with the understanding that each person you meet has significant value. With that appreciation, by default, you begin to act more out of kindness, compassion, and selflessness which leads to Doing A World of Good.
